Hi! I'm Erin.

So what is this blog all about?

Think Big, Live Small is my approach to life's big questions. I'm a born thinker, I consider research a hobby, and I'm a notorious letter writer. (I know, I know...snoozefest!)

Sometimes all those Deep Thoughts get to be too much even for a fully invested nerd like me, and that's when I focus on living small. I embrace my normal life, try to notice the little things, document them, and admire them regularly.

Good news! You can, too! On this blog, I'll try to share how.

Other Facts About Me

  • I write (by profession: (here's my resume)...
  • I take photos on my iPhone (and post many of them to my Instagram: fiercebeagle)...
  • I do a lot of amateur gardening on a semi-rural third acre of land (which includes some light husbandry: we have two dwarf Nigerian goats, rabbits, honey bees and chickens)...
  • I'm considered a professional parent in certain circles (no, seriously: Noah and I have two biological sons, Ethan and Oliver, and we're becoming a licensed foster-to-adopt family)...
  • I believe one of the best ways to educate yourself is by reading...

Also, it's almost always true that a good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything. Hopefully I'll help with the laughing part.

P.S. For many years I wrote a personal blog, The Fierce Beagle. You can still view the entire archive atFierceBeagle.com.

Sometimes, ...you get to a point where you're sick of a problem, or worn down by tinkering with it... And letting it go, maybe writing it down and sending it away, buys you some time and space, so maybe freedom and humor sneak in—which is probably what you were praying for all along. —Anne Lamott, Grace (Eventually)
