Tastes: locally made chocolate caramel pecan turtle; craft ginger champagne cider
Scents: patchouli. Lord help us, the patchouli. Curry from the Indian street food vendor.
Sounds: buskers—a girl tuning her violin, a guy playing the accordion, another guy playing guitar and singing; the psychedelic sounds of some contemporary hippie DJ.
Overheard: on the street..."God, these tourists walk so slow."
Bonus Overheard: in the chocolate shop, our friend Nick to the chocolate shop girl..."Can you believe some store up the street was worried about him? (gestures toward Oliver) She made some comment so we left right away." "Well, he is welcome here anytime."
Conversation: a friend of the guy with an English accent at a kaleidoscope booth in the Craftsman Fair.
He makes all of these by hand.
Yes, even every small piece of glass and object and bead in the cells.
Wow, that's amazing.
And the ones he calls teleidoscopes, you can take pictures with your phone through them.
